A practical checklist for a power-supply enquiry.
Describe input and load
State the input voltage range and each required output. Include continuous load, peak demand and any startup constraints. Avoid describing a supply by wattage alone.
Check the physical installation
Provide available space, mounting, pinout and cooling conditions. State the ambient temperature range and attach the relevant mechanical drawing. A dimensional match alone does not establish electrical compatibility.
List requirements explicitly
Specify isolation, documentation and application requirements. Review the manufacturer’s complete documentation and application limits before approving a part. Ask for clarification where a requirement is uncertain.
